A New Vineyard in Oregon Has the Attention of Italian Producers

On May 24th, over 30 Italian producers were onsite to walk Threemile Vineyard. The tour was open to the wine industry press corps and was hosted by Vias Imports and the Mitchell Wine Group. The tour began with a tasting of Italian varietals during an exclusive trade event in Portland on Thursday, May 23rd. “Each year we choose two different cities to showcase our portfolio,” stated Luca Bigerna, President of Vias Imports Ltd. “The excitement for Italian wine in Portland made it an easy decision to host one of our tastings here this year; a city which values food and wine culture as much as we do.” It is for this reason the Italian producers expressed enthusiasm for exploring the Portland market and seeing firsthand the unique techniques Threemile Vineyards is implementing.

“Oregon is one of the largest states per capita of Italian wine consumption in the United States” notes Edwin Martinis, General Manager of the Mitchell Wine Group. “We are thrilled to have this level of attention from such an esteemed group of producers.”
