Notes from Viticulturist
Syrah was the inaugural grape planted at Threemile. Having worked with it before, Joe knew this versatile grape would prosper in The Dalles, and its name recognition has winemakers keeping an eye out for it.
As a very capable grape alongside Sangiovese, Syrah is another “control” grape at Threemile with plantings in blocks B, C, and F. As both a warm and cool season grape, Syrah sits beautifully in the vineyard blocks at varying elevations.
